I agree with him though. "Proud" might not be the right word for them. "Comfortable" maybe. Being obese is nothing nowadays. I don't really think they are proud of it, and if they could choose between obesity and being at least relatively thin (and it doesn't require any work or exercise) guess what they would pick?

being fat is something you can control... and the majority of those fat are just not taking the steps to rectify it. Thus, being fat implies a lack of self-control; a character flaw where if someone says "I don't like people without self control!" it would not annoy you half as much.

On a personnal note, I don't like how society has to change and cater to those who lack this self control. If you are fat, you should NOT be entitled to more space on a bus, subway, plane, or movie theatre unless you pay more. You should be standing on a bus so you don't take up a disproportionate amount of space on the bench which can accomodate 3x as many people if you don't sit down. And just making everyone have to walk around you in general is obnoxious... like driving a big SUV on the road.

It depends how you define "fat". Most woman say they're fat when they're actually skinny. Magazines, diet commercials and other crap has brainwashed people so bad to think they are fat or others are fat when they're normal.

If you're hungry, eat till you're not hungry. If you're not hungry, then don't eat - unless you got the munchies. That's the diet I'm on, and it works too well, I'm underweight.

I don't hate fat people, but I think fat people who complain about how they just "can't" lose any weight while consistently picking the unhealthiest item on every menu are mildly annoying. Take most any dumb animal and give it an unending supply of tasty food and no reason to exercise and it will get obscenely fat. People should be able to rise above that IMO.

No, you are mistaken. That is what the fatties claim. However, trends in modern media embrace obese status. If you are underweight, then it isn't working. Using hunger as a judge isn't the best idea either.
