PDSA veterinary nurse Jennie Keen with Tinks, a 13-year-old cat from Gillingham. His current weight of 9.8kg makes him around 96 percent overweight.

I find it hard to believe that that cat is only ~21 pounds. My cat is about 13 pounds, and the one in that picture looks a good 3x his size.

That cat is 21 pounds. That's small compared to our cat, who tips the scales at 27 pounds. The funny thing is, our vet says our cat is only around 1 pound overweight, he's just an overall extremely large cat, one of the largest she has seen. I'm almost certain he's a mini panther.

"Alongside their daily portions of pet food, owners often show their affection by giving unhealthy human treats such as cheese, buttered toast and biscuits. They don't realize they are actually killing their pets with kindness," said Sean Wensley, a veterinary surgeon at PDSA.

Bullshit. I had 2 dogs live 15 + 13 years back to back by feeding them all sorts of "unhealthy treats." I rarely even fed them Dog food over the years, they hated the stuff.

It's hard to get good pics that show his size. Here's a pic of him next to our german shepherd puppy. The puppy was around 55 pounds at the time. Here he is laying in a doorway, you can see he is as long as a standard doorway. He's also very tall.

Yea, doesn't look fat at all. Just a very large kitty. He has to make some noise jumping down from stuff at that kind of weight.

We had the cat that was a record holder at the vet office I worked at. He was so heavy his leg's had broke in the middle and became long feet. The cat could barely move.

He had a cardiovascular system like an obese person would have...very un-catlike.

Very friendly kitty, but died due to the neglect he had been given his whole life to be the fattest.

Some breeds will naturally weigh in at 20lbs+...DSH types aren't one of them.

Feline Diabetes is becoming more popular now.

Please don't become a scientist. You have confused blind luck with what really works.

Out of the 15-13 years those dogs lives how many of those years were you post 18 years old?

Someone can pound down a case of beer daily and never have a liver problem...doesn't mean a majority would fend as well.
