first thing i noticed in Nicaragua is that there are HARDLY any fat people at all. If they are fat, they are older men who hardly work and just drink and eat. Everyone else is slim and fit.
then on the flights home, i sat next to 2 fat americans, and in the airport i noticed how fat america is.
its pretty sad.

The world is catering to these fat asses so why would they feel the need to change. Local public tranpostation has raised there rates because they need to increase the number of train cars and the width of the seats to 18" Im personally sick of it. I should not have to spend more money just because people can't control how much ****** they stuff into their faces and won't exercise.

Why is this? America is often described as a nation of chronic dieters. In a Jan. 16, 2006, cover article in U.S. News & World Report, Amanda Spake suggested that Americans should 'Stop dieting. Stop obsessing about every morsel you put in your mouth, stop weighing yourself twice a day, stop letting your quest to be thin control your life." Good advice?if it were true.
The idea that Americans are obsessed with weight loss is a myth.

Who the hell ever believed that America is all about weight loss? I've never heard this before. Maybe I don't hang around enough stupid people.
America has never been about dieting. America has always been about eating as much as you want whenever you want. There's nothing wrong with that, it's your body after all.

That isn't true. Remember the fitness craze back in the early to mid 80s?
I'd expect that to come back around soon. These things are cyclical.

To compare people living in a prosperous society like the USA along with folks in Nicaragua is pretty silly. Just to paint with somewhat broad strokes, I think it is safe and reasonable to assume that the incomes and access to food is much better in the US than in Nicaragua. So of course you would expect Americans to eat more compared to migrant farm workers in Nicaragua. An optimal comparison would be to some other industrialized nation such as the UK or France; both of whom are experiencing a rise in obesity related issues.

..and there's hardly any fast food joints either. Ever since the advent of mass marketing fast food franchise/joints America has been in a bulimia rut..and it's only going to get fatter. They're well fed all the way to the graveyard.

You've never been there have you ...
when I was there, I ate more than I eat here. I never eat breakfast here, and I ate it there every day, as well as just ate my ass off, and drank more soda and alcohol in 1 week than I do in a month here.
when I came home, I had LOST weight. the food there is just prepared much more properly than it is in the US. I ate a crapload of meat while there, and meat there is very VERY cheap. However its not loaded with steroids and all that other crap. Also, people there have to walk everywhere giving them a lot of exercise.
however you don't see little kids begging for mcdonalds or candy bars. over there, every meal is a good home cooked meal with meat, rice, and tortillas. it's much better for you than the crap we have over here.

Ever stop to think it wasn't the food, it was the activity level? People on vaction tend to be much more active and under a lot more stress than they are at home.
And for the last time, steroids used in cows have absolutely NO effect in humans, even when injected directly into humans. Cows and humans have completely different hormone receptors. It is a physiological impossibility for bovine growth hormone to have any effect in humans.

Except for the fact that it inhibits the cow's natural growth process which in turn makes the quality of the meat (taste) and the nutrition of the meat worse. It also makes the cow's more fattened instead of lean like free range cows, which in turn we ingest.

Fat doesn't make you fat.
Also, you contradicted yourself. Higher fat meats taste BETTER than lean meats. That's why the perfect steak is marbled with fat. Too lean beef is dry and tastless. Free range meat is horrible compared to farm raised meat. It's dry and tough.
And please point to any valid proof that BGH makes the beef less nutritious.
