Epox's website says it will support up to an xp2100. I'm about to upgrade my 1.2Ghz Athlon, what's the fastest processor you guys have put in your 8K7A. If I installed an XP2100, would I notice much difference over my current processor?

Why not try a 1700+ t-bred? I think with the proper bios version the 761 chipset will work fine. I hard modded one on my son's KG7 (761 chipset) to a 15x multiplier for 15 X 140 @2100MHz. Very inexpensive. Although I just checked pricewatch and saw the price is very cheap for a 2100+. You will notice the extra 500MHz.

I am taking the same route except I used my TBredB 1700 CPU at 12.5x148 (yes I can pass memtest86 at 152 but 3DMark2001 locks up at this FSB so I went to 148FSB with no problems). I have DDR333 memory though. Seems that 150 is maximum stable speed on this mobo then just get multiplier up to desired speed.

With 2100+ you would get 13x148 = 1924MHz. Increasing FSB will jeopardize stability of the system plus increasing FSB wil overclock AGP and PCI as well so you might not want to push FSB to hard because of that. I believe you will have to get BETA BIOS 0923 to access higher multipliers than 12.5x.
