Fastest micro-sd card?

just remember that fastest for sequential will usually be slower for random access, and vice versa.

This is what to expect out of a 32gb Samsung blue class 6

I didnt bench mine but my writes were dead on using usb 3 with mem card adapter.

+ 1 for samsung blue's

however, i read the OP's question in parts:

"What's the absolute fastest SD-card"

here it is! - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1972/2/

I can only think of 1, to rule them all 😛

but then:
"... one can put into a galaxy S4?"

the S4 wouldn't take advantage of those speeds, so the samsung blue or pro would be fine 😀

But the Sandisk card you got was for cameras, not smartphones, right? I remember the other thread where someone made that correction for you...

On another thread similar to this one on the XDA forum I compared my numbers to those who had the "smartphone" version and they were similar. I mean mine was a little slower than a few other Sandisks, but the Samsung is twice as fast. Nothing on any forum or anywhere I have seen comes close on 4K.

The Sandisk is not a bad card in any way. It was faster than any other class 10 card I have (especially on 4K for some). Samsung's current lineup is just far beyond any of the competitors. They must be using a superior process and not sharing. One thing that supports that is the older orange cards have way worse performance.

What is the advantage of a super fast SD card in say an S4 besides being able to transfer files from PC to it faster? I have a 32gb sandisk ultra am I missing out?

If you ever run tons of app straight off it (or all your apps using a hack) it makes it as close to internal memory as possible.

For every thing else the Sandisk is perfect, especially if you are using it for media.

Seriously I have had a bunch of Class 10 cards and Sandisks are a clear number 2.

What are you using as a test? I have 3 64gb SanDisk cards and am interested to see how they fare.

Are you talking benchmarks or apps where I can tell a difference?

Edit: Either way I like A1 SD bench (or Crystal) and honestly when it comes to apps I think 4K writes are important for things like web browsing (worst thing about crappy Transformer NAND or when I ran my Nook Color on a class ten card). But who knows if I could easily tell between the two best cards for that. I think for things like games even a Sandisk would be fine.

Edit 2: A1 SD Bench:

Edit3: To compare 4K speeds there is no way on Android. But you can use Androbench to see what the internal 4K speeds are.

.

Nice, just downloaded A1 SD bench. I don't have external SD card support, but was wondering how fast internal was.
Benchess RAM, too. 🙂

Just ordered one of those blue Samsung 32gb cards. Not that easy to find. I ordered it from a fulfilled by amazon place, hope it's legit. My wife is getting an S4 too so I'll give her my Sandisk and take the Samsung.
