I would get one with a hybrid cooler, Pascal's GPU boost is very sensitive to temperature.

Basically any water cooled is the best. The difference between the variants of water cooling will be extremely small, probably less than 1%.

These are good:

With power management mode in nvidia control panel set to prefer maximum performance both of mine boost to 2 - 2.1ghz in OC or Gaming mode out of the box. They are bloody loud though. I had to set the fan profiles much more aggressively or else they get far to hot. Pushing 90 -100c under sustained load. With my current fan profile they don't go over 70c max (while gaming).

It's a good thing I have a decent speaker set up. :)

Although to be fair my previous build was 100% liquid cooled. So it was a lot quieter.

Pre-overclocked? This is among the fastest, I suppose: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXY43WH/

If you want to overclock, would you use a water cooling loop?

Yes, the Zotac 1080 Ti Extreme is the fastest factory OC'd Ti out there to my knowledge. Stays cool and quiet, hard to hear. They all max out between 2.0-2.1GHz though, and most are able to sustain those boost clocks. Next to cooling capabilities (noise and temp), next biggest factor is aesthetics IMO. Can't really OC 10xx cards all that much.

Similar to Urvile ( except he has two of them), I have the Gigabyte Aorus Ext GTX1080TI with the attached waterblock since I have a custom cooled rig. Wonderful and fast.
