What is the fastest FBS currently available? Who makes it, and which chip is it for (AMD, INTEL)?

533MHz is the fastest official FSB right now from Intel.

Is the FSB of the Itanium 2 (which runs at 400 MHz but is 128-bits wide) equivalent to a 800MHz FSB that is 64-bits wide?

As far as data transfer goes, yes...
Why does it matter what the FSB speed is anyway?

Technically it's 133MHz quad-pumped.

Technically 133 x 4 = 532

i see your "Technically 133 x 4 = 532"

and raise you "Technically it's 133.33 recurring x 4 = 533.33 recurring"

It's all about the bandwidth. :)
