I have a new KG7-raid motherboard that I bought several years ago and is still in the box. What's the fastest processor I can use? Abit's site says XP 2100+ Palomino or XP 2000+ Thunderbird. How do I tell the two chips apart and which one is available?

I know the Palomino is 0.18 micron and the Thunderbird is 0.13 micron. Which one is currently still available and is one better than the other. I don't intend to overclock but am curious which one overclocks better.

You have the names confused.

2100+ Palomino: .18micron
2000+ Throughbred: .13micron

The throughbred processors put out less heat and overclock better. However you should see if there is a BIOS upgrade to support more processors before you make your purchasing decision.
