Fastest CD-RW on a USB 1 Interface?

I just got an USB CDrom enclosure for the use of my laptop. My laptop is older so it only has usb v1, and im currently using a 4x writable drive. What are my limits on cd-r speed with usb v1 bandwidth?

11mb/s is the technical speed but since your sending data thru it, put an 1/8 so roughly 1400bits per second..

so you can go max of 6x or 8x (1200bits per second)

theoretical 12 mbs = 10X, but don't expect to get anywhere near that.

Then why is USB1 rated 11mbs then?

I've seen 8x HP USB 1.1 burners.
