Faster ram or turbo boost

Hi everyone,

So right now, i have a i7 920 at 3.66Ghz, but this is with turbo boost. Without turbo boost it's at 3.5Ghz. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think turbo boost only works on one core. The ram, i currently have is rated for 1600Mhz, but is running at ~1400Mhz. So, I was wondering, would it be better to try to change the multiplier around in order to get higher ram speeds (around 1600), and thus disabling turbo boost, or is the boost on one core better?

Currently, my pc is mainly used for some free fps games, web browsing, and fl studio.

Thanks for all the help guys 🙂

Stick with the turbo boost; it's greatest with one core but works to a lesser extent with all. Faster RAM will gain you little to no noticeable difference with few exceptions.

Why even use Turbo Boost. OC is manually and get your 1600Mhz memory speeds

That 100mhz boost aint gonna do jack for performance. Take her to 4Ghz if you have proper cooling and proper CPU voltage.

That pretty much answers my question too. Currently running with 1333 ram and was thinking of jumping up to 1600 or maybe even 1866. I guess ill stick with 1333 for now.
