It's noticeably faster on my AthlonXP 2000+.

AR5 used to take half a minute to render a Compusa PDF ad. Now it only takes a second. Also, scrolling (and the resulted re-rendering) is much smoother.

Finally! The PDF plugin in IE has been soo slow, hopefully this also fixes the random crashes with the plugin causing IE to crash every now and then on XP.

Sweet find, thanks.

By sheer coincidence, I just downloaded it today.... Now that you mention it, it does seem faster.

Nice post. The PDF's display much faster, but OMFG, why does this version take so much longer to load than Acrobat 5???

It seems that the full setup file is the same for Windows Me-2000-XP.
Why are they making you download three different times if you want to install it on different Windows version systems?

Be sure and remove 5.x first -or- install to different directories. Otherwise the plug-ins will get all confused

Try going to Edit - Preferences - General - Update, then changing "Check for Updates" to "Manually". This turns off the automatic checking for updates and the pop-up boxes.

Hope this helps,
