It will be dirty, but lawsuits will only be a very minor part of it. And hopefully the lawsuits will stop a good deal of the dirty play.
I predict that Republican operatives will be frequently challenging potential voters in key (ie, student or minority districts). The practice is already quite apparent in certain districts in Ohio. These challenges will probably be based on residence within the voting district, and possibly cititzenship or age. These challenges will have the effect, if nothing else, slowly down the voting process to a crawl in those areas. If the lines are 3 hours long or more (easy to do in a crowded district and multiple voter challenges) many people will turn away and not vote. The GOP will have accomplished what it wants-disenfranchising those voters it doesn't want heard.
Some suggestions:
1) Bring proof of your age (driver's license-even an out of state one) to the poll, along with proof of address (a lease, a couple of utility bills, etc) with you to the polls if possible.
2) Bring reading material and be prepared for a long wait. A few hours standing in line is a small price to change to save this country.
3) If you are challenged, make your objections known about the GOP tactics in a loud and clear, but respectful voice. Make sure others in the line know it is because of the GOP that the line is moving slow.
4) In the worst case, you have the ABSOLUTE right to cast a provisional ballot. At a minimum, do NOT leave the polling place without having at least done this.
We must all do what we can to help protect our democracy. A boring day standing in line is a very small price to pay compared to what our predecessors paid.
