first and foremost i have no idea what these fast writes are, i assume that having them on is better than not having them on. but i dont know.
i read once on a website that provides custom drivers for ATI, that said that fast writes merit no performance gains or drops, and that they should be set to off to give best system stability.
i just put on the new 3.9 cats and noticed fast write was off, so i switched it back on and rebooted. when i checked again they were still set to off!
have ATI set them to off by default or is my system not capable of fast writes? bearing in mind they have been set to on in earlier drivers (3.4, 3.6 etc) and my comp is less than 1 yr old.
while im on the subject i cant find a stable overclocking tool for my 9500pro. Rage 3D causes the VPU recover to go into a fit of rebootin the video card every time i open a window! and Riva Tuner claims its OC'd the card, but when i run a 3D app the clock returns to stock!
i am greatful of any help, Thank you!
