Yeah so I don't really understand how so many people can text so fast. I can't seem to get the T9 stuff to work correctly so I just do manual letters, but for example, how would you text the word "Hello" fast? The fact that the 2 l's are the #5 confuses me a bit. I figured out that if I press the down key on the directional pad, that it ends the letter but is there another way?

The dictionary in your phone is your friend. Just keep at it and you will quickly get used to it.

I can type faster and more accurate with T9 and a keypad than mini-qwerty keypads.

in many prepaid cases it is cheaper to text.

i agree just call, but sometimes it's a .10 text versus an .89 phone call.

thank god for my treo and its qwerty keyboard. cant possibly go back to T9 after being spoiled with this.

its either an onscreen keyboard (iphone) or a physical qwerty keyboard (htc mogul/htc raphael/treo) for me.

In almost all cases, not using t9 is faster. The people who do it fast having been texting alot and for a long time. I remember getting my cell phone in 98 and have been texting since then.

As for the double letter or having multiple letters on the same number issue.. once you get into the habit of hitting space after those conflicting letters, it'll be smooth.
