yes but oldfart, I must say this game has such cool gameplay it kills me!!! and so much eyecandy I'm sick to my stomach :) I play 1024x768x32 (120 refresh) with all AA settings maxed and everything maxed and the gameplay is liquid.... level design? Many game desingers should take some pointers

Yeah, I'm amazed also. Considering how good the graphics and physics engine is, I'm really taken back by how fast this game runs even on a lower-end machine. Really high fps even with all the eye candy turned on.

I don't know how many 'art' guys Remedy had working on this project but holy cow..... I'm just taken back by like the...:

1) Spook house where Sax lives = incredible
2) Run down hotels = awesome

Ok I'll shut up now....make no mistake...this game holds me over easily till HL2

Seriously. And the havok engine is awesome.
I run max everything with my 9700pro except i run no AA but i still get 84-85 fps which sometimes goes to like 45-50 but only for about 2 sec's Awsome game. The best is the apt building so far. I wear awesome headphones so it sounded like i was in a rain storm

I agree the MaxFX engine is pretty damn amazing. This was the same engine (earlier revision) used in 3DMark2001... I was disappointed to see futuremark depart from using MaxFX with 2k3.

Can you guys believe how bodies seem to fall down and roll down stairs SO FREAKING realistically....limbs and legs flop just as they would in real life! SO IMPRESSIVE to me...

it would be nice to see soldier of fortunes ghoul engine used to an effect as to blow limbs hands etc off. That would look sweet. I mean theres lots of blood in the game but this would make it so realistic

I was surprised how well it ran on my pc 1.6a @ 2.4 w/ GF2. I thought it would run like crap but with everything turned on at 800x600 runs pretty smooth.

I really dont prefer 3rd person, but I think I'll get it anyway. I guess I'm just too used to 1st person. Whenever I play a 3rd person game, there is always this guy in front of me that is in my way :p.

I checked out some screenies and yeah, it looks great. Nice to see the performance is good too unlike another recent game <cough> Halo <cough>.

jup running it at 1024x768x32 on a athlon 1,2 with gf3 and i'm totally suprised how sweet it runs. never imagined that a new game would run so awesme on my old rig.

havok is impressiv specially the body droppings. i wasn't that impressed by havok on boxes and stuff. looks to be better implemented in half life 2 (e3 movie).

it's a more than just a simple sequel. very nice.

the reloading of a weapon while in bullet-time is just fvckin cool :D

a pijty the game isn't that long...

I'm w/you Oldfart....not a 3rd person fan but this is the only one that camera view and mechanics ENHANCE your experiance not hinder it.

My question is, can you turn off the storyline...I loved the first MaxPayne but the storyline was sooooo painful to sit through...the I liked to replay levels but not being able to disable the movies/narration was annoying...

Yes you can skip thru the cut scenes by pressing space bar (maybe jump key?). And you can fast forward thru the comic style cut scenes with the buttons on the bottom.

ps. I heard rumors that there is a alternate ending. Is this true?

Please don't spoil the story for others. :D PM me if there is a method for an alternate ending.

Is there a download for running MP2 in first person, like there was for the original?
