I've had fast food three times this week. Each time I ate at a different fast food chain. I don't normally have fast food, but I have been so busy it was that or nothing. I know there will be some fast food defenders posting in here shortly. I'm not telling anyone what they should or shouldn't eat, that's your own business.

Sunday morning was McDonald's breakfast. 2 sausage burritos and a large coffee. The burritos were hard, cold and small. There was barely any filling in them at all. The coffee was good though. 40 minutes later I was in the bathroom with the projectile shits. I'm not sure what meat was used for the sausage but it must have been ground rat testicles because it tasted like shit.

Monday afternoon was Taco Hell. I zipped through the drive up between errands; little did I know that quick bite would put me out for several hours. Two soft taco supremes and a medium Sprite Zero. The taco meat looked like liquid shit. I don't think my body actually had to do anything to turn the meat into shit because it looked and smelled the same going in as coming out. An hour later I barfed part of it up and fire shat the rest out. I continued to have the fire shats for two hours with about 15 mins apart per session.

Tuesday evening I was running late and needed supper. I stopped into a Long John Silver's thinking I could get some grilled fish. I must have been dreaming to think they would have anything on the menu that wasn't fried. My two fish "planks" were dripping with grease. I ate them anyway with a regular Coke. I didn't eat the fries because they were soggy like they had been submerged in grease for a few hours. Luckily there was no puking or shitting this time but I did end up with stomach cramps. It felt like someone was squeezing my intestines with vice grips.

You've tasted ground rat testicles and shit before? Wow, and here you are bashing people who eat fast food.

i stick with subway, quiznos, and chipotle for my fast food. otherwise i'd rather cook my food.

I like all those places and have never gotten sick from them. I don't know if I think of them as fast food though, because they cost more and aren't fast compared to say Burger King or Sonic.

No they don't.

Yes they are.

I just had some subway - over roasted chicken breast on wheat.

I would be willing to bet that most people talking about the delicious goodness of fast food probably haven't really ventured much out into the world of cuisine. If they have, it was probably just more chains. Authentic, homemade food simply cannot ever be compared with anything mass produced. To argue otherwise is disingenuous and reeks of immaturity. All one really has to do is visit a legitimate taqueria and then compare it with Taco Bell. There is simply no comparison.

In most cities, there really is an undercurrent of serious food that most people just don't know about; unfortunately, many don't care to venture into that realm and try it. People prefer restaurants like PF Chang's to a real Chinese restaurant, and that's quite ok; however, I've always been of the opinion that a person should really try to get to the origins of everything and then form an opinion. Once you've tasted real Chinese, it's quite simply impossible to fully enjoy PF Chang's.

All that being said, fast food chains (and other restaurant chains) have their place. I've managed to down quite a few McD's burgers in my years, but I acknowledge it for what it is. There's a much bigger world of food out there, and I intend to savor it.

[edit]Half my post got cut off for some reason. Not sure what happened.[/edit]

You make it too simple, I worked at a place that had an authentic Taqueria, it was delicious but there were still plenty of times I wanted a Grilled Stuft Burrito from Taco Bell over an authentic burrito with that funky ass white cheese they use :) I eat fast food because a lot of it can't be made at home without a ton of hassle and work. Seasoned Curly Fries at home are a bitch, it's hard to make a burger as good as In-N-Out. Good fast food tastes really good. I'll be having a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack In The Box for lunch, I can't duplicate that at home (I know I've tried)

I've been other places, and when I go I try whatever they offer food wise. I believe if I ever went to China I would eat KFC, there's a reason most of our chains are worldwide, and theirs aren't :) With the exception of Yoshinoia(sp?) I can't think of a non American fast food chain from another country we have here.

My ex Boss is from Jordan and he said the most popular place to eat there was KFC lol. USA USA USA!
