Then she wasn't a vegetarian.
No, I corrupted her. Got her on fried seafood too. Then she gained some weight, blamed me, and now I refer to her as my ex.

Taco Bell blows all other fast food away...
It's a restaurant. Opened years ago and is a chain. Given the religious origins of its founder it's one of the few or only fast food joints that don't open on Sunday.Originally posted by: SWScorch
what the hell is a Chick FilA? A place or a sandwich?
And of course, Taco Bell owns all fast food places

Read Fast Food Nation, never eat fast food short of perhaps KFC or Subway again.
Simple.

If you want some fast food, then buy the following:
- A package of "wraps" or tortillas
- 1/2 pound of turkey
- A squeeze container of Hellman's bacon & tomator lite mayonaise.
Takes about 1 minute to make and won't kill ya' with all the grease.![]()

Why read such an anti-capitalist, anti-corporote book wrapped up to look like it actually cares about people's health? His main beef (excuse the pun) is not that fast food is unhealthy, but that fast food businesses make money. Yes, that's right, he hates capitalism.

Read that, instead... and save your money.
Not only that, but this guy went on national TV and said he would stop eating beef becuase of the Mad Cow hysteria.
Sorry, but why should anyone take advice from such an irrational person?

I read the book and didn't find it anti-capitalist. The guy is angry about greed, and from reading the book it's not very hard to see how greedy some of these fast food companies and their friends are. Just because he finds them greedy and such doesn't mean he hates capitalism.
He stops eating beef because of Mad Cow. That's irrational? How? He thinks it's a problem and so he doesn't eat it.

"Greed" is the battle cry of anti-capitalists. Fast food restaurants are BUSINESSES. They are there to MAKE MONEY. They sell a desireable product at a price consumers are willing to pay and make a profit. If that is "greed" anyone who sells for a profit is "greedy."
The fact that he thinks Mad Cow a problem shows that he is irrational.

Well I'm not anti-capitalist and I found them to be rather greedy. Making money is one thing, shady business practices and plain greed is another. Greed is "excessive or reprehensible acquisitiveness," I'd like to see examples of them not being greedy.

As I said, if you are to classify them as greedy, then you would have to classify ANY for-proft company as greedy. The whole point of business is to minimize cost, and maximize profit.
Ayn Rand put it best when she said,
"Since time immemorial and pre-industrial, 'greed' has been the accusation hurled at the rich by the concrete-bound illiterates who were unable to conceive of the source of wealth or of the motivation of those who produce it."
