what responsibility does the pilot have ta assure the safety of a passenger when the engine is running and prop spinning? What is the official procedure for a plane running and passenger entering/exiting the plane and was the pilot mindful of the passenger??

my understanding is it's normal to keep the passengers in the plane until the prop stops spinning. at least that the way it was when I flew in a turboprop.

Yeah plane props should NOT be spinning when a passenger is outside of the aircraft. It doesn't have to be a "whoops i wasn't paying attention". it can easily be a "whoops I slipped and fell" or "whoops this person secretly hated my guts and gave me a little nudge" or any other scenario. For such an avoidable accident (i.e. sitting in the plane for an extra 20-30 seconds, it shouldn't have even been a possibility.
 
ugh, you all are terrible. think of this poor girl. she has a new handicap that precludes her from grasping her dreams. her career was chopped short and i do not see this propelling her forward. how will she face society?

I don't know man. i think she would be perfect as a the model in Vegas on the slot machines.
 
I'm sure even with these crosswinds in her life, some of her new dreams will take off once she decides what to use all that money for.
 
When did being dumb pay? How do you walk into a prop? I could not believe how much she is getting paid for her own mistake.

After all, it is impossible to walk into a spinning propeller when you a) are a huge nerd who sits in front of a computer 24/7 and b) always fly coach with HugeAir Jet and all your experience boarding and deplaning is through expanding tunnels that lead right up the fuselage.

it is the internet. we get that it is a terrible situation, but now we make fun of it so that we can deal with the loss of one hot girl that wouldn't be caught dead with us anyway.

Pretty easily I'd guess. You can't see it and if it's spinning down there won't be too much wind from it. Most of the guys in this thread who actually fly small planes have already said as much.
