Truth or Consequences, NM

yup, it's a three-word-name city in New Mexico. Any other city that have interesting name?

I know of a "Winner" South Dakota.

And one of the funnest town names that I know of is Kickapoo, Illinois

Truth or Consequences was originally named Hot Springs, and they changed the name in 1950 because a radio show called Truth or Consequences did a broadcast from there. See some other weird city names here.

I remember going there. Truth or Consequences, NM was the town where I first went to a Dairy Queen. The Rio Grade goes through it I think, it was wide and very merky IIRC.

Intercourse, PA I guess the post office there does a lot of business from people remailing adult magazines themselves just for the postmark.

Another funny thing about the town, is that back when Clinton first came into office, SNL did a Waynes World skit with the "Top ten things we love about president clinton". One of the was that he was from Hope, Arkansa and he was giving the country 'hope'. Wayne then said "Just imagine if he was from Intercourse, PA..."

Some towns are named after states. I think it would be funny to get someone drunk so they pass out, and then leave them by a sign that points towards one of those towns. For example, Virginia is a town north of Duluth. If you woke up drunk 20 miles from Virginia, don't you think you'd be confused if you knew you were in Minnesota the night before?
