Fark.com turned 10 today! I absolutely love this site and have been visiting it for the past 5+ years. I think Fark is the only website that I have been going to on a regular basis longer than ATOT.

Who else here loves fark? 90% of the radio DJ's get their "crazy news story" info from them. Some of them even blatantly rip off Farks' headlines for their jokes.
 
I wonder what Fark's owner (Drew Curtis) thinks about Digg, Reddit and the likes. Does he say, "Well damn it, I started this user submitted web 2.0 contents BULL$SHIT, and they get to have all the millions in VC money".

Or maybe he thinks "I am making money, they are just burning it"

 
i used to actually pay for the 'total farker' stuff
then a bunch of sites came out with better content, better interface, funnier communities
i miss doing a daily photoshop though, a site for a daily funny photoshop could probably survive as a standalone nowadays.

Yet another site that regurgitates news stories from other sites? Maybe they were the original and laid the foundation for the other 14 billion sites that do this?
 
Anyone know where the Fark owner lives? Because a car up the street from me has a fark.com license plate...

They were the original. They also had the twist of re-writing the headline into something funnier.

Seriously, a TON of original content used in the media (Radio, local news, etc) is stolen from FARK.
