Maybe Firebird will comeback in '09...

Although, the exterior styling was a bit bland for my taste...the muscle car enthusiast in me calls for a moment of silence. :brokenheart:

I've seen loaded '04's with 8k miles going for $22k already in dealerships.

I know the GTO wasn't what everybody wanted it to be, and overall it wasn't spectacular comparatively. But it is still one of the best bang for the buck "muscle cars" (Yes I know its more of a sports car, but 350-400HP RWD V8 isn't quite sport to me) out there today. Looks like my chances of getting one are going down hill....

GM doesn't know what it wants Pontiac to be. I don't think Pontiac knows either.

Yes. Last time I priced one, the 6MT was a $900 option..maybe less now..haven't checked.

- just checked now it's $589 for the manual...the auto is standard.

Thats what I was thinking. They should have redesigned it a bit instead of tossing it aside. GM being idiots as usual. Now we all have to wait until 2010 for a freaking Camero....

Oh I agree But hell for $22K I can "live" with 350HP and sweet talk it to 400HP later

Thank god, the platform had potential, but the styling was one of the worst thigns i have laid my eyes on.

Why not? They can just bring it out along side the Camaro, there will just be a 2 to 3 year hiadous. They didn't say they were gonna kill the GTO nameplate.

GM was attacked very viciously on this board before the GTO was announced because Holden was putting out such "great" looking cars. They bring the car were with a very slight tweak of the nose and suddenly it's style is described anywhere from bland to ugly.

Personally, I think it's because big magazines said it was ugly, so just like the people over at TCL or VWVortex, an anti-GTO group was founded here too.

wow, this has been known for a VERY long time, since the Monaro was going out the GTO had to as well... There however WILL be a GTO in about 09 completely restyled and everything from what ive read/heard.

Interesting...looks smaller than the current GTO...hmmmmm
