Just got it myself and I love it. I believe there is a "cheat" that allows yo uto save anywhere, anytime.
It runs great on my system too @ 1280 x 960, 100hz with 16X AF, and all the details cranked.
Oh, and the graphics are AMAZING. I really think the swimming is done the best I've seen to date in ANY game.

I like it much more than Doom 3. Played through FarCry in less than a week. I'm maybe 2 hours in on doom 3 and ive already uninstalled it.

Why?
System not up to spec and game runs like crap?
You suck at the FPS and got frustrated?
Why?

Which brings me to the question, is a overclocked 9800 Pro (420/720) enough for Doom3? I'd love to get it when the price drops, but if it's dog slow @ a decent resolution with all the eye candy turned on, I may avoid it.

I was running w/ that and 1280x1024. I think if you turned everthing up a 9800pro wouldn't be able to handle it, but if you want to play at a reasonable level (medium settings) it runs perfectly smooth. You can push it to High if you want but you'll probably see some fps drops.

Definately.
Here is what I found is the best setting.
1024x768 vs 1280x1024....You won't see much difference
High detail vs Medium detail....You can definately see the difference.
I know your system spec(mine is only 2.8, same 9800pro) and with me I have:
1024x768 high detail and more importantly turn shadow off.
I don't even notice that the shadows is not there. If you turn any else on that menu, you will notice it big time. Turning shadow off will give you like a 7fps boost.
I even have anti-aliasing 2x and till get 50fps in the time demo.
