The new patch doesnt allow you to hide inside

Then get your sniper rifle out right away, shoot those jumping Trigens that have the AG36's first, then switch to your artillery machine gun, step out of the elevator, and pump some lead through the heads of the Rocket-arms while backpedalling as needed.

The mercs on the platform, I creep up and throw a rock at them :) They get trigger-happy and fire their rocket launchers right into the tanks in front of them, and mostly kill themselves.

Rock 1, mercs 0 :D

I was going to buy that game, but the store wanted $10 more for the DVD, im not about to buy a game where i have to cycle thru about 8 CDs in order to install it. Not ever again (they did the same thing with UT2004, bought the CD version to save $10).

Exactly.

Sneak around.

Use cover.

Don't get spotted; get the jump on your hostiles.

If you're being rushed, have a back door. Retreat to a defendable position and let them come to you.

Binocs are your friend.

Headshots.

Jackhammer on Trigents.

Actually, it's five cds ;) That's still a lot.

I wish there was a DVD version of Serious Sam 2. I had to go through 4 CDs.

If you jam the door with a chair it does. ;)

no, play it an easy or something. It is hard and frustrating, but still cool.

Far Cry is hard at certain point, like the shooting down a certain helicopter, when you have not weapon with mutants all around, and the boss near the end (which gave me the most headache). There are a few more, but with the right tactics, it's pretty easy.

QFT. Of course, I've only beaten it on the easy level!

Hang on there. IIRC there are two layers of doors leading to the volcano arena. Unless you use the chair tactic, the inner one closes forever (blocking retreat into armory), while the outer one is free to open/close. This still leaves a gap between the inner and outer layers. I think what Dethfrumbelo meant was that we could just stick to one corner of the gap and pick off the hopping trigens while staying out of the bigboys' line of sight?

I tried that strategy for a LONG time and I kept getting my ass handed to me. The "big boys'" rockets always found me. :|

OKAY!

anyone in this thread who says FarCry is an OVERALL great game, is an idiot (no offense :]). The storyline and voice acting are ridiculously terrible.

BUT, the gameplay and graphics are simply phenomenal. it is a very fun game to play, but not to follow. if you know what i mean.

FarCry is hard at first but I got used to it. Download a walkthrough and consult it when you're stuck.

Like others I got really really stuck at the part with 10 rounds of ammo and the final volcano phase. The first problem was solved with lots of retries getting mutants to drown themselves and sneaking slowly. I used the chair to keep the door open otherwise dealing with rocket fatboys, snipers and grunts would be just too much.

Trigens suck, needs 10 shotgun blasts into the face to get them bite the dust.

Overall, I feel Farcry has better SP replayability than HL2 and D3 combined due to the HUGE environments to explore around.
