FarCry Demo problem

Hey, I have a 9800 Pro, 2.8C and 512 dual channel and the latest catalyst drivers. When I load up farcry, and it gets past the loading screen onto the actual level, it is covered in distortion, like "snow" or like when a channel on tv doesn't come in clear. What is this? How do I fix it?

My advice would not to even try the demo, i have two friends who have installed it on their machines (both intel p4 2.4gz, one ati, one nvidia.) both claim that it screwed up their video and amungest other things beyond belief. one guy couldn't even run system restore that his computer got so bad after running farcry once.

I also noticed messed up shadows and strong pixelation in the caves for the demo with a 9800 pro. Nothing major to worry about.

Using Omega 4.2.

Unless that demo does something really wierd, that sounds more like user error.
I have a feeling this forum would be crawling with people wondering what's happening as well if it was true.

Thats what happened to me when I OCed. FarCry is a game that uses tons of shaders, and puts massive heat on your core. Lower your core speeds and it should go away.

Yeah, I think that pixelation problem in the cave is just with the demo. I also had a problem with certain shadows whenever I had AAF enabled. I picked up the full version this weekend and everything looks fine. No settings changed on my PC (Sapphire 9800 Pro, Cat 4.3 drivers) so it had to be the demo that was flaky in places.
