FarCry 2 problems

Ok, so I loaded it off of Steam. Everything went fine but when I go to launch the game I ge ta nerror message.

Software not passed windows logo testing to verify yada yada yada.. So when I hit continue it just goes back to my list of games.


I have no idea what software is the hang up, my luck I just got screwed...

Any thing to look for?

drive here, drive there, shoot these guys. drive across the map for 15 minutes, pick up this that etc...

Sold my copy (PC version) on ebay 2 days after it came out. FC2 sucks. Played for about 6 hours...thinking it might get better. Crysis and FarCry are way better games...and Fallout 3, and...well...just about every other game I've played lately. I get the same feeling from playing FC2 as I do when I step on a turd while mowing my lawn...the only difference...I had to pay for FarCry2. Sorry about the rant but I hate that damn game.

Some people like it though.

Hope you get it working man. You should at least be able to try it and decide for yourself if you like it.

Keep us updated if you find a fix.

That's usually a driver error, not an application error. Try it again and note what it's doing, maybe you can track it down that way.

Thanks guys, I'll trying to reload some drivers maybe and try the ubisoft site. I was hoping it was like the first game. Sounds like a big disapointment.

it's nothing like the first, but on gamerankings it has an average score of 87% from the media and just as high from the users. The game rocks, yes it has issues, but I've never played a game that didn't. FC2 is probably the best game I've played since HL2. I hope you get it working, don't let the people on here convience you it sucks before you've played it, don't let me convience you it's great either. Play it for youself and then decide

Well I got it working. I had to load the newest Nvidia drivers.
Now all is well and I can see what the game is all about..
