What are the rendering modes, and what does it do graphic-wise? What's the difference between default, improved, cold, paradise, and cartoon (well, I guess this makes it look cell-shaded).

Are you talking about Far Cry?

Cold makes it a little more realistic, Paradise makes it a bit bloomy and cartoon makes it cel shaded.

Personally, I've tried it on three rendering modes (Cold, Paradise and Cartoon), and it never crashed. The first time I played it was on my Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB with Catalyst 5.8 (if I recall correctly), and recently on Paradise and Cartoon on my 7800 GTX with drivers version 81.85's. Not a single crash. The game itself had the patch version 1.3.

=NEED HELP=
Figured it was better to bump an old thread than make a new one.

I just moved over from my X800 Pro to an eVGA 7800GT.
Reinstalled FarCry (DVD edition). Set high detail on everything before starting.
On the first level I noticed most of the textures had super intense colors. Not good looking either but a harsh yellowish tint to most of them. Everything in the world is affected except enemies.
Also noticed many textures far off in the distance appear as flat white. Have tried just about every combo for detail settings I can think of. Nothing changes. I did notice that the screen shots made whenever I hit a check point are clear with no color distortion. Am using Nvidias 81.98 drivers and XP Pro SP2.

Has anyone else noticed this issue and is there a fix?

I dont even know what that is.
Is it High Dynamic range? I though that was a Lost Coast feature.

EDIT: Nevermind!
I just realized that 1.33 is out.
Got it and fixed everything. I even got my pretty render modes back.
