Hi,

I'm really enjoying the experience with Far Cry Single Player. I started playing with Easy setting, and I really enjoy the game. At least when killing mercenaries.

When the Sci-Fi comes into play, with the triggens (sp?), that's another story. I often sh!t on my pants 😀, and I really hate to face those beasts!

But the topic was about MP, so here I go:

Yesterday I give it a go at Multiplaying over the internet, and let me tell you, in my opinion, that was very disapointing!

This game has great graphics, and it would be a hit if only there was more sneak around foliage, hitting the enemy from a "they-don't-have-a-clue" place, but instead, it arrised as another run around, shoting quake-style.

And if it was not enough, it lags a bit too much ... 🙁

Is there any hope we will see an improvement on MP?

Back to Call Of Duty I go ...

MP on this game is horrible. If you can even connect to a server it usually lags horribly. They definitely need more support, the vast majority of gamer's pcs are not able to handle the requirements to serve, obviously.
 
Yes they need a better support, better machines = faster servers = better game experience

But I do think the game it's too much of a Quake/UT game stile ... just run around shooting ... or get a good precision long range weapon and camp ... camp like hell!

Whenever I play COD online, I "feel" the reality of the battle ... yes I can still rush, but if I carefull go through a place covering each turn I come through, I will get a much more improved game experience and even quality kills ... that's an hot feature to me.

Now with FarCry, even the weapons are unbalanced ... true, present weapons are a bit unbalanced, but put that in the game and it's a bit frustrating to see 2-3 weapons rulling the game. Why would you try to sneak through the bushes, if everyone is running around shooting everyone/everything that moves?

I like COD very much, and it was a bit odd to move from Enemy Territory to COD, but I think WWII war-games are getting a bit more-of-the-same, so I was hopping FarCry would translate that great online experience I'm having since "Return To Castle Wolfenstein", to present weaponry.

Gess we'll just have to play SP in FarCry, and hope someone tweaks/mods the MP part, or that someone uses CryEngine to create something awesome. But then we could loose the beautifull Tropical sets ...
 
its pretty fun on lans, fun playing the monkey level, get plenty of sniper ammo and head to the next island, climb up and then camp 😀

If youve bought Farcry for its multiplayer features, you made a huge mistake... As for MP games I prefer - BF:Vietnam, UT2k4, and COD satisfy my needs for fragging..
 
I played FarCry MP at a LAN party and thought it was pretty fun.

Lag wasn't an issue though. 🙂
