Far Cry HDR Problems

I was going to post this a few weeks ago, but never got to it. Seeing the HL2 HDR posts reminded me of it. I have a MSI 6800GT, when I enable HDR in Far Cry, everything becomes semi-transparent and some things fully transparent, and the light gets extremely bright and messed up. I'd take a screenshot, but I let my friend borrow my Far Cry DVD. Does anyone know the cause of this and how I can fix it? I have tried different HDR levels, but they all do the same thing.
 
disable AA. HDR dosnt work right at all with AA on.
its worth it to run with AA off and HDR on, its really amazing.

Yep, try that. It really looks awesome, but in some places light is too strong. Set HDR to 7 for the best IQ overall.
 
no. not on FC, only 6xxx cards do, x8xx cards can use hdr though slightly differently i think than fc's Hl2 getting HDR and i expect, because of ties to ATI😛 that it will work

no the HDR in FC is some openEXR thingy that uses 64bit precision or something (some one more aware of the topic can fill you in) basically its like what they use in things like shrek etc i think
the NV40 is the only card that has the capabilities to run this type of HDR

but radeons can do HDR too, jus look at that RHTIBj (or whatever it is demo) and that uses a method of HDR that looks just as good imo and both companies can do it

So you're saying that 6800s will be able to enable HDR in HL2 also?
