Add me up too, Ol RedRooster, I gotta win me some more stuff to decode in co-op! It's like opening a Cracker Jack box and getting the prize!

Finished it this morning. Now to take a break from games for a while and get life back in track before Bioshock comes out.

I didn't care much for this one. I started out in hardcore mode and though it just takes a tad more time, it was still pretty easy, at least the first island, mostly cause the A.I. is terrible...really, really terrible. Exporing was fun at first but like most map designs you see the same textures, models and objects over n over, so that got old quick.
I did all the towers on main island first thing, very easy, got some top weapons and the camps became easy, then toying with the stupid AI made it retarded. Couple that with the less than spectacular graphics that a game of this caliber should have used...why did they not import textures from FC2? Even the AK looked better in FC2....and driving with FPS never mixes that great on mouse/kb but otherwise feels fine on gamepad.

Top that off with the fact that FC2 is not only rated excellent for 3D use, it's superior at it. FC3 is rated "fair" but looks like crap in 3D...same engine, updated even...what gives?

Hexen you are right. In fact I haven't seem AI this bad in a very long time. Shoot a guy and his buddy freaks out for about a minute, then goes back to patrolling. And yet despite being so stupid that occasionally they will "keep running" into things like a wall (though rare) they still seem magically to run directly toward me after I silence-snipe somebody from far away and I know I wasn't detected. Also they will only throw an alarm if they see you; if they merely see that you shot out one of the alarm posts that won't make them hit another alarm post unless they see you. Their peripheral vision is also absolutely ghastly, like 100 degrees.

I enjoyed the game a lot despite all this.

I would be happy to see a modern game that utilizes some body awareness when shot. Like on Nintend 64's Golden Eye, if you shoot an enemy on the foot, they would hop and dance around for a second. Nowadays you shoot them on the foot or anywhere and they go "what was that?" or "who is there?" type things.
I'd like to see a shot to the foot, force some pain behavioral reaction then crawl or hobble to safety, sadly there is little to no focus in most games these days in regards to A.I.

I did like in Farcry 2 where a wounded guy would get carried off by his buddy, though not usually somewhere safe but i never saw that in Part 3.

I remember I think with Half Life 2 they advertised how awesome the UI was. I sure don't hear much of that now.

Yep. You shoot a guy in FC and if he doesn't die he says "What the hell?!" or something like that. Although occasionally they do scream for Help before dying. The UI really is absolutely awful now that I think about it. I enjoyed one time I saw some of the privateers slow down around a bend and stop their car. 1-2 got out and then the remaining driver proceeded to accelerate into the guard rail and then fly out of the car dying.
