Tech Report said:
When Ubisoft unveiled Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon on April 1, we didn't think the game would turn out to be a real project. And the last thing we expected was that Blood Dragon would later be bundled with AMD's Radeon graphics cards.

That's precisely what has happened, though.

Earlier this morning, AMD announced that, starting May 1, Blood Dragon will join BioShock Infinite, Crysis 3, and Tomb Raider as part of the company's Never Settle Reloaded bundles. The game will be included for free with all Radeon HD graphics cards from the 7770 on up. Not only that, but customers who've redeemed Never Settle bundles in the past will all be given the game for free. AMD explains:

By May 1, any customer that has ever redeemed a code for our Never Settle Reloaded promotion is going to receive a FREE GAME KEY for Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon by email. Or, if you have a Never Settle Reloaded postcard with a code you’ve not yet redeemed, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon will be added to the games on the postcard when you finally register the code.

Giving existing customers freebies is a new move for AMD—and it's definitely quite generous. I'm sure a lot of folks will appreciate it.

Blood dragon is one of the most awesome games to come out in ages. IGN put up 15 minutes of game play and it is epic.

Best thing is you do not need to own FC3 to play it, its a standalone game.

I watched some of it and didn't see anything that made me want it.

Blood Dragon is supposedly pretty brief compared to FC3 (about 8 hours long), but hey, free is free. And it's a nice little bonus for 7770 buyers.

The best part is, AMD is retroactively giving it away to people who have already registered in the promo.

Would not complain about getting free games.

It seems Ryan has a Bat Phone to AMD, to get the word out. I'm waiting for a bit-coin backing statement /sarcasm 🙂
joke ^^^

AMD is absolutely killing it with the bundles. Nvidia is sucking mud. I saw a comment on another site that made me laugh though - "buy AMD card, get games. Sell AMD card on ebay for $75 less, put that money towards Nvidia card."

Yeah, but Nvidia isn't exactly hurting. They still sell more cards without bundles.

I will admit though that getting free stuff doesn't hurt AMD when someone is on the fence between them. Oh and if I had a choice and was buying a 7900 series I would take Tomb Raider before Crysis 3. Even if Crysis 3 is more visually impressive.

It hurts AMD. If you think that around $50 (3x $17) of gross margin is not hurting AMD then i guess you believe their margin on these products must be really high.

Imho,

The key though, the bundles create positive awareness for Radeon and Gaming Evolved as well as bringing in potential sales.

Gotta to do something to convince people to not buy Kepler I suppose...

Good points

ORLY? How do I collect this new addition?

Oh, well then. Thanks AMD. I like free swag!

I realize technically it is against the TOS of these bundles,
But I sold my Nvidia code for $50
Bought a crysis/bioshock bundle for $40
Entered the code (which means I will now also get blood dragon)
Traded crysis for Tomb raider...
and am now a happy camper with $10 in my pocket.

Cool. I do like crysis 3 but Tomb Raider is a better game for sure.
