looks very good, but they need a new voice actor for the irish guy, the accent is so fake

The part where it crashes reminds me of the BSOD that occurred during some Microsoft OS presentation with Bill Gates a couple of years ago. But the game looks good, yes, but its complexity is bound to bring in some bugs, and some of them got to be nasty.

1st impressions

Gorgeous graphics and effects
Able to do missions when you want day or night
weather effects
Do what ever you want
50Km map

Ok bad 1st impressions.

Bad screen tearing
Destructable vegitation (who cares ffs)
Bad voice acting
weapons just like FarCry and Crysis 50 shot kills and no down the sights shooting
AI Snipers are rubbish
Finding weapons everywhere you go
taking on 20 men and surviving like Rambo.
too much freedom maybe

i think ill be bored of this game after an hour, once you have done 1 mission itll get repetetive, but we'll see, i found farcry very good but i found crysis to be soooo boring.

Thanks Wheezer for the link ;)

Voice acting I find is a small thing that can make or break a game (including the animations of the mouth)

Half Life 2 does it very well, FEAR was pretty good, Crysis was pretty good.

Is it just me or do the huts look exactly like they do in Crysis?

All the voices in crysis were all in Splinter cell, but omg the irish voice is terrible in Farcry 2 its like its been speeded up.

Holy crap, this game looks truly epic. Hopefully Ubisoft doesn't screw us over with its DRM crap.

The color palette looks really limited. The savannah is a nice idea and all, different, but everything is brown and dusty. Hopefully there'll be more environments in the game. Some color somewhere. Maybe they can end up in a jungle, with greenery and waterfalls, and mutated monsters called, i dunno, trigens or something. That sounds like a game.

I liked the grass burning feature and the environment looks great as usual, but the game looks like the same old, same old, dull gameplay. I wish someone could come up with a truly engaging and innovative game with this engine.

Well, less FPS and more RPG. Something with deeper gameplay and storyline. Or maybe something with more humor or something unexpected. Think along the lines of Portal or Giants: Citizen Kabuto, something different, but juicy. I love the eye-candy and it seems like the environment has the potential for something much better. The same old FPS thing puts me to sleep and I could tell from the demo that it wouldn't hold my attention very long.

Your main criticism of this FPS is that it's not an RPG? That makes a lot of sense.

Give them a chance, they're French Canadians, it's Ubisoft Montréal, even the guy who's playing the demo is named Julien, and the presenter is from Québec as well. It's the same studio that developed Assassin's Creed if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry, guy. All I'm saying is, wouldn't it be nice if this great engine was used in other types of games. Frankly, this one looks blah in terms of gameplay.

This looks truly epic. I have seen other demos, and all they just blow me away: how much land there is, how much content, everything. It's just really brilliant.
