Not too demanding. :) October 1st (according to ign.com) seems too far away. ;)

I think the devs have said the game on the consoles is equivalent to the medium settings on the PC

well they had to draw the line somewhere. heck the 6600gt was was midrange card nearly 4 years ago so I think even having the 6800 being able to play a game in 2008 is more than fair.

That's hard to believe. I meet the recommended with my X1900XT and X2 6000 but is this true? It's official but this must be stretched... All the videos looked laggy.

They don't specify anything.
Is it 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1680x1050 etc etc.
Low, medium or high details?

I mean I'd assume recommended is 1280x1024 with medium details, which doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for an X2 6000 with X1900XT.
All depends on what you have on and off, which they never tell you.

minimum certainly doesnt mean 1280x1024 and medium details. 1024x768 and mostly low details would probably be more accurate for what games consider minimum nowadays. just like meeting the recommended specs doesnt mean your going to play the game anywhere near maxed.

A lot better than Crysis.

Heres a  hoping it will run with maxed settings.

Hrm, doesn't this title have nothing to do with the original other than name? I recall reading that Ubisoft bought the name and that Crysis was the de facto FC2.

Far Cry 1 was built using Crytek's Sandbox 1 software. The dev team for the original Far Cry is not the same people who built the Sandbox.

Crysis was built using Crytek's Sanbox 2 software. The dev team for Crysis is the same team that built the Sanbox 2. Not only is Crysis using the new Sandbox, it was built by the people who made it. So its a bit closer to home in regards to the creation from the ground up, which to me, is what makes Crysis so great. I think Crytek has a great dev team and their engine is the state of the art right now.

Far Cry 2 is not using the Sandbox software. It's a different dev team than the original FarCry, AND its a completely different brand of engine.

Graphic card isn't the only thing required to run this game. You need compatible hardware, software and intelligence. The last one is more important like to figure out what to do, how to install, which button does what or how to enter cheat codes and so on.

Your GTS definitely meets the video card requirements if you look at the first post.
