You can see my specs in the sig...I just can't believe Far Cry 2 runs between 25-40 FPS@1680*1050 4AA. (edit...I'm running the latest 180.xx drivers)

So, what do I want to blow my next paycheck on? Will a single gpu handle this game and Crysis (Playable, not 200fps)?

Help....

It's time for an upgrade then to either an Nvidia GTX 260 216 stream processor card or an ATI HD 4870 1GB model. Other than those two cards, you are obviously not cpu limited at this point, just GPU limited ;)

GTX260 can play both but not really in uber fashion.

If you can swing it a GTX280 would be just the ticket.

Or if you're feeling frisky go for a 4870x2.

All up to you.

I suggest dropping AA to 0 as well. I had to. Running Crysis in DX10 with my rig at just 1280x1024 required 0 AA to be fun. There were times when even 2xAA became so terrible the game wasn't enjoyable.

Note: you don't necessarily need to run a GTX280 or 4870x2 to have a good game experience. Both the 4870 single card and GTX260 would be good too. I just like to think big to start if you can afford it.

Just out of curiosity, why'd you pair your slower GPU with your faster processor? You'd get a small performance boost by using the 8800GTX instead of the 8800GT.

well since you already have an 8800gt, why not get another and SLI them? You can find them on ebay for around $100.

thats not bad at all man especially since you have 4XAA

i get between 30-60 fps on my 260 on ultra settings with 2XAA. so to me, i think your FPS are just fine

All you guys recommending crossfire/sli are missing the fact Tweakin uses an IP35-E, which is a single-slot PCIe mobo.

I too would swap the 8800GTX with its much greater 384bit interface into your system and then OC the core using RivaTuner. I'm assuming the Seasonic M12 has 2 dedicated PCIe 6-pin plugs you can use...?

Following that, then I'd consider a GTX260 216 or 4870 1GB. And Black Friday is approaching so be on lookout for deals and don't rush the purchase.

1) 4xAA at that res... I don't know that you need to run that.
2) GTX 260 c216 or 4870 1GB makes both games playable and they are both fun!
3) If you get a GTX 260-280 you get Far Cry 2 free... so it makes the jump a little easier to stomach if it's a $$$ thing.

**EDIT** We have very similar specs as well.
