The tv ads make this game look like sheeeeeet. Wasnt a big fan of the first FC but have hopes for this one.
 
The problem is that FarCry was a graphics elephant when it came out and now, everyone expects the same thing out of its sequel. But I have to agree, it looks crappy, after today's standards. Oh well, let's hope it rocks on the gameplay side.
 
FYI - these are shots from the editor, not ingame.

Doesn't mean the final game won't look like this, but this isn't the first post of crappy-looking screenshots from the editor.

Someone is gonna say this engine isn't terribly coded either.... 43 fps on a GTX 280 and it looks like that? Pathetic.
 
Not sure, but things don't look right to me. I think it looked better on the xbox 360 version I've played. I'd take these screen with a pince of salt, and wait for the 'real deal'...
 
Playing at full screen editor it looks exactly like that - but I think the final maps have been "beautified" a little. Thanks god...

That would explain it. Those screenshots look worse than the original Far Cry, particularly the lighting. I doubt it's that bad.
 
i dont think it should look like that. the gameplay trailers looked waaaaaaay better than that so it wouldn't make any sense if it looks like that now.
 
There's no way it can look like that - in the 1st person forest shot IMO low looks better than Ultra with the bleach-white grass. It looks like those shots were taken at Ultra details on a really low resolution - look at how aliased and blotchy everything is.
 
Maybe the OP is just a noob idiot who wanted to make everyone look at his shitty screenshots and pass them off as the real thing.

I was at the Penny Arcade Expo this year and watched the live demo of Far Cry 2 along with features from the Editor. Graphics are definitely better then as shown from OP's screenshots.
 
I've seen FarCry 2 at Ubisoft's studios just last week (couldn't play it though) since I live in Montréal (and I know a guy working there, yes, it sounds cliché but it's the truth), and I can affirm that those screen-shots must have been taken from the editor which removes many visual effects on purpose to allow for faster map building, and the SandBox 2 editor for Crysis does something similar to that, it's not the same, but it's similar.

Don't worry everyone, the actual game I've seen looks very good and is certainly comparable to Crysis in certain situations, especially the shadows, take this whole thing with a grain of salt.
 
Did anyone pay attention to the name of the image? I mean it only says "fc2editor"....... so this isn't real game images.

Uh.. yeah, but no one actually stated the obvious giveaway.
Instead were like "uhh, thats don't look right" or "That looks like the editor" or "I have a friend in xxx and he says its the editor".
