Fantasy football ... already a week 1 QB dilema

I have two QBs Aaron Rodgers(GB) and Ben Roethlisberger (Pitt).

Ya, Rodgers is playing Seattle in week one. Seattle is the best or one of the best defenses.
Big Ben is up against Cleveland is in the middle of the pack defense wise.

What to do ..... what to do.

Huh ... no .... it's looking at who my draft picks are playing this week. Gee, maybe if I am up against a top defense, I should atleast bother with looking at my options. If Big Ben was up against a horrible defense, I'd probably take Big Ben without even posting here.

I'll have to think about this for a little while.

I'll still take rodgers.

I dont care what DEF he is playing. You dont bench your star player EVER. They have too much upside to bench.

Rodgers. PM didn't even that THAT bad of a game, fantasy wise, against Seattle. I believe he would have gotten around 17 points (just under 300 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs). Rodgers will do at least that. Ben? Eh, if it is a PPGR (points per girls raped) league, I'd never sit him (even during Shittsburg's bye week).

Seahawks did lose a top corner in the offseason, Browner. He's a beast. They'll still probably be an insanely good defense though.

The last time Rodgers played Seattle, the infamous Fail Mary game in Seattle in 2012, Rodgers did not have a great game and was sacked frequently. While Seattle has lost Browner and Thurman, Maxwell is no slouch and probably better than both. And since 2012 they did lose Clemons and Bryant on the D-line but also added Avril and Bennett in 2013 and Kevin Williams (2014).

The new emphasis on defenders could help Rodgers but Seattle's abuse of the rules is overplayed. See: Seattle destroying Denver. Seattle's starting DBs have not seen many interference penalties in the preseason.

I would go with Big Ben against a Cardinal team whose defense is in total disarray.

Rodgers falls under the previous #1 rule of gambling, which was: Never bet against Brett Favre.

Just replace Favre with Rodgers.

I'd go Rodgers over Big Ben every week except his bye.

indeed. Ben is a good QB, but generally lackluster to terrible when it comes to fantasy scoring. IIRC, he has had only one good fantasy season.

Rodgers is generally very good to amazing as far as fantasy scoring, even with a "bad" game.

first, you probably drafted him too early

second, you play your studs

third, you drafted aaron rodgers, why would you draft another qb

fourth, just give up now

Rodgers was on the run all game, and while a good, athletic, mobile QB he was constantly moved off his spot. Less than 200 yards, 3 sacks, 1 INT and only 1 TD. Now I may eat crow if Big Ben lays a turd in ARZ, but at least I was right on Rodgers playing in Seattle for their opener. That said I thought Rodgers did pretty well--his ability to move and change his arm angle and push the ball with velocity into small windows is very impressive. He had some nice plays, e.g. a clutch dump off to a TE in the middle of the field only to immediately pull up and dump to the right flat. Broke a linebackers ankles on that and got a good gain. He looks primed to have a great season--Seattle is just a hard place to play.
