Just saw it today. It was bad, but not super bad (like "I just wasted my money" bad). The couple next to us walked out about 1/2 way through, but the guy looked at his cell phone first so it might not have had anything to do with the movie.

I'd give it ** out of *****.

It's better than The Hulk at least.

hah, i find it hilarious how most user opinions on this movie are that the movie was good/decent while the critics say it was so horrible.

just more evidence pointing that movie critics have no clue wtf they are doing.

Oh well time for the Ironman movie.
And let's hope Cruise has nothing to do with it.

Don't worry. Hollywood will probably cast Denzel Washington as Tony Stark.
Ahahahahaha; don't you mean Shaq? Like he did in that Superman spin-off movie based on the replacement Superman that wore an iron suit or whatever

The critics are idiots sometimes. I saw a matinee this afternoon, and it wasn't bad at all. The acting isn't at all bad for an action flic. The citizens in the movie are portrayed as gullible drones, which is disappointing. It would be good to see them as a secondary antagonist, bringing the 4 together as they try to prove their integrity. The evil villian's powers certainly wasn't any worse than Magneto in Xmen. The only difference is they didn't develop his descent into evil with much flair, so he's kind of flat at the end of the movie. You don't end up hating him. Overall, the movie is a pretty good time and I enjoyed it.

J Alba is a decent actress, but the horny young men here can't see her ability because their too busy staring at her breasts. I have always been a fan of hers because she seems like a genuinely good person, and I want to see her succeed.

I think you're too busy staring at her breasts to see her complete lack of acting ability.

EDIT: Look, they mentioned you in one of the reviews!

"It might help if Alba could act, though I doubt her horny legion of fans will complain."
-- Jeremy C. Fox, PAJIBA

Meh. That was weak.

I guess your argument was too then, it was of about the same caliber.

Actually it was a good argument, and I don't give a rat's ass what you think.

I don't even bother wasting money at the theater anymore, with the possible exception of Batman Begins - my friends say it was great. About 90% of the movies I wanted to see but waited to rent I came away disappointed at best. At least there I only lose $5 instead of $30 if me and the SO go to the theater.

Although, I'm patiently waiting to see how this one turns out: Transformers

Well it was a big hit with my 6 year old cousin. He loved it.
I still haven't gotten around to seeing it, or Batman yet. :(

Spielberg was supposed to be on board to direct though.

I also went in with low exectations, and decided to forget everything I know about the fantastic four so that I would have some chance of enjoying this movie. I enjoyed it a lot!

Even though they completely got Dr. Doom TOTALLY WRONG (Loki, Dr. Doom is an awesome villan, you just have to get inside his mind. Read Fantastic Four from around 455 to 500. You will LOVE Doom as a villan after that.)
Who was the idiot who decided that Dr. Doom needed powers? Doom is just a man (allbeit a megalomaniacal genius of a man) who relies on his technology (armor, doombots) and magic (he is the second most powerful sorceror on Earth.)
They didn't get enough of the absoloute hatred Doom has for Reed in the movie.

As a movie: B+ for sheer enjoyability. As an adaptation of Fantastic Four: D- for completely missing the point.
I agree wih you 100% about Doom. Wtf were they thinking??? That and Alicia were the only bad points for me. It was a fun movie, and of the 3 films I've seen this summer, I rate them as follows: EP3>FF>Batman.

^ was Alicia the blind chick ?

Anyway, it's obvious this movie seemed very shallow. Chris Evans stated in an interview that the 2nd one will allow them to do a lot more with basically everything. Work as a team, be more sure of themselves, and of course relationships. They planned this as a trilogy, not just a solo flick... so this first one was basically "how they came about" with some shallow storylines along with it.

Aquaman: Can I get you some water?

Flash: Please.

Batman: Good, Flash is already here. You all know what to do.

All: No.

Batman: Well, the volcano's exploded, we've got to act fast.

Superman: Right, Batman, Robin, you find some way to block future transmissions. Wonder Woman, you stop Dr. Spiker, and find out what he knows. Flash, run to the Andes Mountains, and get those plants. I'll go stop the missiles that have already been launched (grabs crotch). Aquaman, you go...talk to some fish!

He's executive producing, and Michael Bay is directing.
All the writers have to their credit are the Goonies 2 NES game (WTF?), some episodes of Hercules, Jack of All Trades, a few Alias episodes, and The Island.

Fvck RT. I go by the opposite of what RT says with 75% of movies I see. Critics don't relate to the common man.

 They gave The Punisher a 28% and I thought that movie was great.

I don't give 2 sh!ts what critics have to say about a movie really (Lost in Translation anyone?) I'll go and see the movies that interest me and judge them for myself.

I was going to say the same thing. The Punisher I thought was a pretty good comic book flick. Hell, the beginning of the movie where they kill off his entire family had me so wound up and pissed thinking about that happening to me, that it was worth the price of admission right there. Kicking John Travolta's ass never hurts a movie as far as I'm concerned. :D

The original version of The Punished was quite good. In this remake they left reality so far behind he just became some lame superhero-wannabe.

Alba cannot act...she is nice looking woman...but she CANNOT act.

And neither can most anyone else in that movie.

Yes, Alicia was the blind chick. She's was Ben's main love since the 60's. If she was black in those days that would have been hardcore. To do now to a character with 40 years of history is just wrong.
