Fans such as those on X1900xtx shouldnt have a problem running at 90% right?

When gaming I run it at about 95%... that's higher than it would normally under its automatic control, shouldn't be a problem right? It's not going to wear the fan out prematurely unless the fan is defective, correct?

The fan should last for the useable life of the card even running at that speed, but whether or not it will is another story. Will it wear out faster @ 95% compared to 35%? Absolutely. It's a machine, the harder you run it the faster it will wear out. The question is, why would you want to run it at 95% anyway? How hot is it running?

His fan speed is for his core overclock, mine would freeze at 680MHz with default fan settings guaranteed.

I solved this problem by buying a Zalman VF900-Cu and running it at 100% all the time, mmm silence. ;)

Correct. I heard though that the Zalman wasnt giving much better temps than stock, and typically worse at full fan speed
