Im thinkin of poppin the retail HSF off of my radeon AIW (not 8500), and replacing it with an old 486 Heatsink. I was wondering how to attach it without it falling off. The only paste I have is from Radio Shack, and I'm not sure how this will hold the heatsink to the chip and prevent it from fallin of without some sort of adhesive or something. Any ideas?

I know Arctic Silver has an epoxy/glue that is not only electrically conductive, but it acts as a glue, too. I think this is what you'd be looking for.

You want to use Arctic Alumina adhesive, Unlike Arctic Silver adhesive it wont short out your card, its especially good for ramsinks as if you accidently get it on your memory pins your card wont go DOA

Not only that but arctic alumina adhesive is cheaper than arctic silver adhesive.

Heres a tip, use masking tape on the areas you dont want to get the adhesive on.

Peace
