Some theaters you have to buy on Fandango, no option to get it at the theater.

Wow, this is retarded. That would be a theater I would not be giving my money to.

At least now it makes more sense to me why Fandango even exists, I never knew what the point of it was.

Fandango is great on Friday's right now if you have a Visa Signature card. B1G1 free. Been doing this for a couple of years now and haven't run into any issues. Based on this story I hope I never have to deal with their CS though...

Go to the first show in the morning on Saturday or Sunday. Cheaper and not as crowd.

Thiiiiiiis. I always feel ripped off whenever I go to an evening movie and have to pay $10 a ticket. The Saturday and Sunday morning movies are half the cost, there's no problem finding a parking spot, and you basically get the theater to yourself. And a typical movie will get out at just the right time for you to have some lunch.

 That's the best time to see the summer blockbuster movies.

Isn't PayPal notorious for siding with the customer and issueing charge backs? Why not get your money back through PayPal instead of fandango?

It wasn't entirely Fandango's fault afterall (see my update just now).

If Google was blocking Fandango emails for everyone, I can understand why Fandango's call center would be overwhelmed. Gmail delayed the Fandango message with the confirmation code and held it for 3 days before putting in my Spam folder. THREE DAYS!

It's still not over until I get the refunds.

Still no word from Fandango. Nothing credited back to PayPal. No email. Nothing returned to my bank account. That means I waited on the phone for over an hour on 5/5 for no reason. They simply said "we're sending it to our refunds department" and did absolutely nothing. I've been on the phone again since 9:35 PM and I'm still on hold. At least this time there's a message telling me that wait times exceed 30 minutes. Will they brush me off again and do nothing?

30 minutes to reach someone tonight. Checked my phone logs for the call just now: I dialed at 9:33 PM. CSR answered at 10:05 PM. Call ended at 10:16 PM.

They had no record of my previous call. On that call, I waited over an hour...apparently for no reason at all.

you can't dispute it with paypal?

I probably could, but Fandango already said they would refund it. Why would I contact PayPal if Fandango said they were refunding it already?

The main reason I called Fandango just now instead of dealing with PayPal was so I could give revised feedback:

The PayPal option should require users to sign-in or register a Fandango account. In the case of email delivery issues that are completely out of my control, I could simply log-in to the Fandango account to get the confirmation code.
