Fan stopped working on my BFG 8800GT OC

For a couple days, if my computer was idle it would go into a sleep state. However, I could not get the screen to pop back up. Realized my fan on my BFG 8800GT OC had stopped spinning, so my guess is that the card was overheating (interestingly, if I am working/playing the card doesn't shut down). I just called BFG about an RMA and they are sending instructions to my email address. How's their RMA service? Anyone have any horror or good stories? I just purchased the card this year, but don't have a receipt.

Must have registered within a month. Must have receipt. I would get an Accelero TWIN TURBO for silent cool computing anyhow. Gluck.

I had good experience with them. I bought a 7600GT 216MB a couple years ago and when the fan died, they gave me an 8800GT 512MB! But you will need the receipt or invoice! I didn't have my invoice but luckily I bougt mine at Newegg and Newegg keeps all of my past invoices online! Props to BFG's warranty and prop to Newegg's order system. It does pay to pay to buy from a reputable manufacturer AND seller!

I believe if you bought the item BEFORE a certain date, then you don't have to register within a month. BFG puts forth this rule around 2007 I believe. Agreed with must have receipt

I received the RMA paperwork (through email) and there is no request for receipt. The CSR did not state a receipt was required either.

I RMAed once 7900s. worked out wel, but I can say they sent me back a refurb probably. still worked.

RMA'd 6800GT no problems, no receipt took about 3 weeks, they are in IL I'm in CA.

wonder if the small "OC" sticker on the center of the fan came off & got sucked up into the cooler. it's happened before!
