I am going to buy a Zalman 5000 from Plycon. The HS does not come with a fan. I was thinking of getting the 80mm Delta with these specs

80mm x 38mm. 12v. .58 amp, 4900 RPM, 68.5 CFM, 48.5 dBA, tail-less.

I was wondering if this fan would still put out more air than the 60mm if I added a resistor to bring the noise level down to something comparabe to the 60mm fan. Also, is there a good way to mount an 80mm fan on a HS designed for a 60mm?

I'm not sure about your first question but there are plenty of 60->80mm adapters out there.. shouldn't bee too hard to find..

here ya go.. someone posted this one in another thread: here

uhh...unless you already have the 80mm delta...there are 39-41CFM 80mm fans doing 32-34dB (pretty darn quiet imo)...there's no reason to mod up a fan...

www.bestbyte.com has them for like $3 a pop
