Fan for the Scythe Ninja?

I've decided I'm going to replace my Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu LED with the Scythe Ninja. I've got three 120mm case fans, so I might be able to get away without any fan at all except that I sometimes run with a pretty high overclock during games. What fans are people using on the Scythe? What are your temps and setups?

Since all 120 mm fans are not designed the same I want to make sure that whatever I buy will actually mount on the Scythe.

Good CFM is probably more important to me than silence since I'm using a fan controller. Bonus points for any recomendations of LED fans since I've got the full-on blue thing going on in my case already.

You have alot of fans to choose from thats for sure many high CFM as well as high dba.....lol..

But seriously.....you can obtain the same temps with alot less noise using the Coolermaster 120mm fans......

But if you want high output CFm`s I would run with the Thermaltake Smart fan 120 mm.....if memory serves me correctly at top rpm you will be pushing over 90cfm...with a dba in the mid 40`s I believe...
Yet if you have a fan speed controller you can do like I do and only crank it when you are gaming......when your not gaming you can lower the rpm and its not a loud fan if you lower the rpm....

Then there are other fans such as the Panoflos...etc.....

Others on these forums are more familiar with the nexus and panaflo fans....

I am very happy with my current set up.....plus my hearing is returning..lol

I think since you are liking the "blue-Bling" OP, then the CM fans Jedi speaks of are right up your alley. They are inexpensive as well. SVC has them at the lowest price I have seen. They push 42cfm @ 22 dBA and I would think even with a high OC that w/ good case airflow & the Ninja, they would be ample fan for stable operation/temps. I think the Thunderblade by TT comes in a blue LED as well so if you really don't think 42 cfm is enough for your needs, then have a gander at the Thunderblade. They are not quiet mind you. G-Luck :)

Actually, I'm already running three 120mm Thunderblades in my case :D No, they're not quiet but they sure get the air moving. Thank God for fan controllers and loud 5.1 speakers!

How much do you people OC? I have the Antec p180 but i took out all the fans and only have a xp-90 with panaflo fan. I dont see the use in using so many fans in the case. I have a 3200+ Oc'ed to 3500+ and it runs just fine with the single fan.

Do all these fans all over the place actually make a difference? or are you people just a bit too anal...

I on occasion push my P4 3.2EE to 4.0....as it is now!
Byt usually I use a mild over clock to 3.6!

As long as the fans complement each other in moving cool air in and hot air out of the case then they should all help. But really more case fans (than the standard intake and exhaust) generally don't make that much of a difference to CPU temps (unless you go all out) as a better heatsink is still more important than more fans. But having more fans can help cool other parts of your system (VGA, Hard drives, etc.)

As for a fan for the Scythe Ninja check out Delta Extreme High Speed if you don't care for noise level.

This one is good also if you have a fan controller: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa12hisp.html

Thanks tw33ter. There are obviously alot of blue LED 120mm fans out there. Now the money question--does anybody have any experience mounting one of these on a ninja?

Got my Ninja fully installed with my new Thermaltake Thunderblade 120mm LED fan. Looks great, cools great, sounds great. Temps on my CPU went from 45c at idle to 39c with all fans on low! I can get the temps down to 36c at full load with all fans running full blast but it's really not necessary. And that's with a 6% overclock.

By the way, the Ninja was very easy to mount outside the case, but I have my doubts as to whether it would be all that easy to remount it while it's inside the case when I upgrade my CPU. We'll find out soon.

Lastly, the Ninja fan rests directly on the heat spreader of the first RAM module. No heat or clearance problems to speak of in my rig, but I don't think this set up would work with any of the Corsair Pro Series modules. Somethiing to keep in mind if you're thinking of going for the pimpin' LEDs on your RAM.

I really don't understand the mindset of LED lights on hardware, especially fans.

"Hey I know, let's put some heat-producing lights on the cooling device, Tom!"
"Good idea, Frank!"

Well lets be blunt....I use lED Blue Coolermaster fans in my case.....the Blue Coolermaster fans looks sharp and real bright as opposed to some LED Blue fans that are dull!!

Spme of us use LED fans becuase we can both form and function......
Plus it spruces up the case a might bit...

But it doesn`t affect my CPU temps at all.......27idle....37 load.......:)

LED's produce very little to no heat. I know this from camping with LED flashlites. They NEVER heat up.

Likewise cold cathodes. The danger with adding lights to your case is not added heat, it's the possibility of making the thing look awful.
