Fan Filter Question

Does it make any difference what so ever if I have a fan filter in front of the fan or in back? Thanks.

Ehh, well you probably only want fan filters on your intake fans and put those on the outside (ie the first side of the fan that incoming air will hit) in between the case and the fan.

Having fan filters on exhausting fans might make your room a little less dusty but then it'd be holding in the dust inside your computer which might not be a good thing...

Sorry, now that i read this again I was not clear. My bad. It is for the intake fan only. Will it make an airflow difference if the fan is sucking from the filter or blowing onto it? Thanks.

Ok I see what you mean now. You probably want the fan sucking from the filter. If you had the fan blowing onto the filter the dusty air has more of a chance of escaping into your case (I think) and your fan blades will get dirty...Now that's not a big deal or anything but you probably want the least dust on the inside as possible so that means the fans should suck filtered air. That's also how the Lian-Li cases have it setup if that makes any difference.

If you do get a filter, get an aluminum one, you can just rinse them out after a couple weeks.

I see what you mean. I need to figure out how to do this. I have a filter right now and have it attached to the back of my intake fan. The reason was because when I put it on the front I have to take off the front of my case to wash it. Hmmm. Will think of something. Thanks for the help.
