K&N says that this foam reduces air flow 2% at FWOT. So a comp fan would be presented with very little restriction. Any spray a/f oil will do. I just spray one side let it set over night, then press it between a clean paper towel, to remove any excess. Good to go.
This foam is 5/8" thick. I made and installed a 1/2"x1/2" 90 degree aluminum frame to
retain this foam in front of my intakes. 1/4" mesh screen was installed first to prevent fan contact by the foam.

ps: Most ppl over oil K&Ns because they are impatiant. A lite coat of oil then let it set over night. Then install and use.
