You only need the cooling fan if you have modded with a high profile mouse ball - otherwise you're safe to run stock. If you're still worried; download the mouse temp monitor from MouseCams.com

The fan cools your hand. If you game for a couple hours, your palms don't sweat.... Pretty good idea, I think 🙂
 
hehe, with all this talk about this fan cooled mouse maybe we should get one and benchmark it. put a thermal sensor on your palm and take before and after temps.
 
Your PC has rear fans, right? Cover one w/your hand. How much air comes out? None.

Ummmm... if you don't have any air coming out the back of your PC, you might wanna check your fans to make sure they still work... if they are, then you might wanna clean the dust out of it. There should definately be a noticeable draft coming from each fan...
