Fan controllers

I would love to have a fan controller on the front (preferably 5.25), however I don't think any would fit because the knobs would get in the way of the P180's front panel. Anyone got a recommendation for one that would fit the front of a P180? I don't want to mount it further back and have it look uneven. Also need a controller that can control up to 12V and if possible a black color.

On some questions on fan controllers, do they work on any fan (adjusting voltage or something) or do they only work on fans labeled as 'variable?'

The Hardcano 13 sounds and looks cool, but... $60 is a little too expensive for me. 🙂

yes, fan controllers work on any fan. And forget about the Hardcano 13. I had one of those, and they are worthless. Spotty fan control, annoying as hell, and wasn't even 100% functional from the beginning. I use it now just to monitor temps and power fans on my crack rack. I am using 3 Sunbeam fan controllers now, which are awesome, if you can handle the bright LEDs. 🙂

Zalman MFC-1. About $25-30 at jabtech. Knobs do fit behind the door of the P180. I know for a fact.

If you think you may have a clearance issue with knobbed fan controllers, then click the link in my sig. The one I list there was designed with just that problem in mind.

I recently purchased two Cooler Master Aerogate 3's from SVC for $7.99 a piece. My friend had one and its a good controller, though I haven't had much experience with any other brands, it suits my needs. My case is black, but I always keep the front closed anyway, so no one can notice the silver front anyhow.
