Fan Controller

I have a fan controller and temp monitor. I have 4 controls and they are controlling my case fans. Should I have them controlling my CPU and GPU fans?

I would not suggest it, your mobo always knows best. Plus if you have a Rheobus fan controller like I do, it can actually shut the fans totally OFF (which would be bad for your CPU or GPU). Chances are that your computer could probably survive if a case fan stopped for a while, but if your CPU fan stops you could be in trouble

When i had my xp-90, i had the fan on the controller. It was the sunbeam controller and it did allow you to turn off the fans, but i never had any problem with it. What kinda fan do you have on your gpu? If its stock i would leave it.

all my fans are hooked up to a single 5 fingered controller!!

All I do is hit the on and off switch with one of my 5 fingers!
It iether activates all my fans or deactivates all my fans!!

I have my CPU fan controlled by my fan controller, but I also have its speed sensor connected to the CPU fan connector on the mobo. So I have the best of both worlds: finer control of my CPU fan speed (instead of just two steps) and a warning if I accidentally dial it too low (via my hardware monitor software).

Yup, thats a good call.

I have mine through a zalman fan mate 2 and then to the mobo as well. Its really a great combo. Plus even though its on a fan controller the mobo can still slow it down if needed, cuz the fan mate really only sets the maximum speed (doesn't "lock" the rpms, just puts a cap on it)

In actuality all my fans are controlled y my 2 Zalman ZM-MFC1 Multi Speed fan controllers.

She`s quite as a church mouse!!
