n00b question of the week for me:
Ok, so I picked up some Silverstone high RPM, high CFM fans for my Centurion. I also ordered a Vantec Nexus 3.5" fan controller to slave them to, so I can keep them quite when I don't have 6 point game surround sound to drown them out
Anyway, the rheostats included with the fans have 2 pin femal connections, and the fans have two pin male connectors. Aside from that, the fans also have standard 4 pin molex connectors, and a pair of female 3-pin connectors, which I understand are for RPM monitoring.
Now, the Nexus Fan Controller has 3 pin male connectors and 4 3 pin female to male connection cables. I can connect these cables to the 3 pin connections on the fans, but I have nothing to connect to the two pin connections. They are simply unused.
This is being done correctly right? the 3 pin to 3 pin connections still allow for fan control?
