hi, i was looking to get a fan controller, but i'm not sure which one to get, i want one that can actually turn the fans in my case off and can make it go to its full speed as well, also if possible a display as well...do you guys know any good fan controllers like that?

another question i had was, i have a case fans that use the 3pin power connector as well as teh 4 pin regular hard drive type power connector, i was wondering if it is possible to get a 4 pin to 3 pin converter and use it in the fan controller...would the controller work with the fans like that?

Good, cheap fan controller. I'm pretty sure it has both 4 and 3 pin connctors but I'm not opening my case right now to check.

But yes, you can get a 3>4 or 4>3 connector at the same site if need be.

Yes, adapters work with fan controllers. The only reason for 4 pin (HDD molex power connector type - now there is a four pin that's like the standard 3-pin fan connector with an extra pin) fans is if they are too high powered for mobo connectors.

That AG3 is the top value in controllers that can both control and read the fan speed. I think the AG3 can take up to 1.5Amps per fan channel and has a range of from zero to almost full speed (pwm controllers lose a bit of voltage at the top end).

And your fans must have the speed sensor wire (usually yellow but can be other colors) in order to monitor the fan speed. If your 4-pin fan(s) have the speed sendor wire in a separate 3-pin shell, you'll have to move that over into the adapter's 3-pin shell. The four to 3-pin adapter only connects the power as they come.
