fan controller question

Just got the superflower fan controller (check tomshardware review), and realised that most of my fans get power though a 4pin adapter, so i tried plugging one into the 4pin for power and 3 pin on the rheostat for controll and it didnt work. DO i need to get a 4pin -> 3pin adapter? Or is there some other way to get the rheostat to control speed of a 4pin fan? Thanks

You need adapters and should be able to them at most online retailers. If you need a link to where I got me let me know.

I'm looking at getting that fan controller too - only trouble is you won't be able to monitor the fan speeds if you're using 4 pin fans.

yes, but you can monitor the temperature and control the speed (with a 4pin to 3 pin adapter), so if the sound is good, temp is good, what does it matter what the fan speed is?

Not a single thing 😀. It's just that half the reason I'm buying one is for looks and coolness - and I find knowing the fan speed cool 🙂 (excuse the really bad pun there)

Yeah, that's a great controller. There is no need for monitoring fan speed unless you are very particular about your system. I am not, so have no need to, and apparantly neither do you 😉
